Clearaudio's Aurum Alpha is a high-performance turntable that features a unique plint design with a thick, dense rod-shaped structural element at its core. This design element provides exceptional rigidity and vibration damping, ensuring that the turntable's internal components, including the precision-engineered tonearm and ultra-low-noise, destroying-cartridge, remain isolated from external vibrations. The Clearaudio Aurum Alpha's platter is made of high-density composite with an anti-resonance machined aluminum sub-platter, which significantly reduces unwanted resonances while providing excellent accuracy and speed stability. The platter is also covered by a floating sub-platter made of TPE (thermo-plastic-elastomer), which prevents micro-vibrations from being transmitted to the platter.The Aurum Alpha is driven by a high-torque, belt-driven AC synchronous motor that is equipped with an inverted bearing mechanism, providing a very low rotational noise and even lower wow and flutter. The turntable's tonearm is the Clearaudio Brodmann 2, which features ultra-low friction bearings, adjustable azimuth and overhang, and a beautiful wooden sleeve with integrated heavy weight headshell.Other key features of the Aurum Alpha include a dustcover made of CNC-milled hardwood, a 3-point carbon-fiber composite foot design, and a gold-plated RCA output jack.
